Businesswoman and philanthropist Isha Ambani turned heads at the prestigious Met Gala 2026 with a spectacular ensemble that paid tribute to India’s rich artistic and cultural traditions. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, Isha’s appearance blended heritage craftsmanship with contemporary design, making her one of the most talked-about attendees of the evening.
Designed by renowned couturier Gaurav Gupta, the look centered around a hand-painted and intricately embroidered saree woven with pure gold threads. Created by skilled artisans associated with Swadesh, the garment featured delicate motifs inspired by nature, transforming the traditional saree into a wearable work of art. The craftsmanship highlighted India’s textile legacy while embracing a modern fashion sensibility.
One of the most striking elements of the ensemble was a heavily embellished blouse from the collection of Nita Ambani. The piece featured more than 1,800 carats of diamonds along with emeralds, polki, and kundan detailing. The luxurious design was complemented by intricate zardozi embroidery, adding further depth and elegance to the look.
Isha enhanced the traditional aesthetic with a contemporary mogra-inspired hair accessory, offering a fresh interpretation of the classic gajra. She also carried a mango-shaped artwork created by acclaimed artist Subodh Gupta, symbolizing a connection to Indian culture and identity.
Adding a dramatic finish was a sculptural resin cape designed to create a halo-like effect around the body. Crafted over 1,200 hours by more than 50 artisans, the ensemble stood as a remarkable celebration of Indian craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless elegance on one of fashion’s biggest global stages.
