Following the massive success of Chhaava, producer Dinesh Vijan and director Laxman Utekar are joining forces once again for their next ambitious project, Eetha. The highly anticipated biographical drama, starring Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role, is officially scheduled to hit theatres on August 28, 2026, during the festive Raksha Bandhan weekend.
The film has already generated considerable excitement, particularly because Shraddha Kapoor will portray the legendary Marathi folk artist and Lavani icon Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. Known for her immense contribution to Maharashtra’s cultural heritage, Vithabai’s remarkable journey is expected to form the emotional core of the film.
Eetha is being positioned as a powerful biographical drama that celebrates resilience, talent, and artistic legacy. Alongside Shraddha Kapoor, the film features acclaimed actors Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in significant roles, adding further depth to the project.
The film marks the first collaboration between Shraddha Kapoor and director Laxman Utekar. While both have enjoyed successful associations with Maddock Films individually, Eetha brings them together for the first time on a major cinematic venture.
For Shraddha, the project represents a significant departure from her recent commercial entertainers, allowing her to showcase her range in a performance-oriented role. Meanwhile, the successful creative partnership between Dinesh Vijan and Laxman Utekar continues after delivering hits such as Luka Chuppi, Mimi, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, and Chhaava.
Featuring music by celebrated composers Ajay-Atul, Eetha is expected to be one of the most talked-about releases of 2026.
