Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is gearing up for one of the most ambitious projects of his career with Samuk, a high-concept action thriller that aims to introduce the “Man vs Alien” genre to Indian cinema. The film is being produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Kanishk Verma.
Currently occupied with an upcoming comedy entertainer directed by Anees Bazmee, Akshay is expected to complete his ongoing commitments by the end of June before taking a brief break with his family. Following that, the actor will begin preparations for Samuk, which is scheduled to commence filming in August 2026.
According to industry sources, Samuk is envisioned as a large-scale cinematic spectacle with extensive use of visual effects, action choreography and advanced prosthetic work. The story reportedly follows an ordinary man who finds himself trapped in an extraordinary battle for survival against an alien threat, blending intense action with science-fiction elements rarely explored in mainstream Indian cinema.
The makers are said to be collaborating with leading international experts in VFX, creature design and action filmmaking to create a world-class visual experience. The project is expected to feature cutting-edge technology and a technical team that includes several prominent Hollywood professionals.
The film also marks another collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Vipul Amrutlal Shah, a duo known for successful films such as Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty and Waqt: The Race Against Time.
With its unique premise and grand vision, Samuk is already generating considerable excitement among moviegoers and industry observers alike.
