The acclaimed rural drama Gram Chikitsalay is set to return for a second season on Prime Video, bringing viewers back to the fictional village of Bhatkandi and the inspiring journey of Dr. Prabhat Sinha. Following the success of its debut season, the series is expected to delve deeper into the challenges of rural healthcare while continuing to explore the lives of its beloved characters.
The first season followed Dr. Prabhat Sinha, played by Amol Parashar, as he left behind city life to take charge of a struggling primary health centre in the village. Faced with inadequate infrastructure, an indifferent staff and widespread reliance on traditional healing practices, Prabhat worked tirelessly to earn the trust of local residents and improve medical services.
Actor Vinay Pathak, who returns in the new season, described the series as a heartfelt portrayal of village life, praising its honesty, humanity and relatable characters. He noted that the upcoming chapter will continue examining healthcare-related issues while showcasing how both doctors and villagers attempt to overcome obstacles together.
Amol Parashar also reflected on the overwhelming response to the first season, saying the audience’s appreciation for Dr. Prabhat’s sincerity and determination has made the continuation of his story especially rewarding.
