Genelia Deshmukh continues to champion India’s rich textile traditions through a stunning collection of handcrafted saris, lehengas and anarkalis. Her wardrobe reflects a deep appreciation for regional weaves, artisanal craftsmanship and heritage-inspired styling, making each appearance a celebration of Indian culture.
One of her standout ensembles was a bespoke Paithani lehenga featuring intricate vine and parrot motifs, paired with traditional Maharashtrian jewellery and classic hair ornaments. She also impressed in a beautifully woven Jamdani sari that combined vibrant geometric patterns with delicate white jaal work, complemented by layered navratna jewellery.
Among her memorable looks was a pink Nauvari sari highlighted by a Himroo-woven pallu, adding subtle contrast and elegance. During promotions for a film, Deshmukh chose a striking cobalt blue Ilkal sari from Karnataka, known for its distinctive handloom technique and heritage value.
Her experiments with texture and colour were equally noteworthy. A pale blue-grey sari paired with a rich red brocade blouse created a festive yet sophisticated look, while an ivory floral-painted sari showcased delicate artistry and understated grace. She also embraced contemporary silhouettes in raw tissue silk separates, elevated with mukaish, gota and mirror-inspired embellishments.
Traditional textiles remained at the heart of her style choices. A magenta anarkali paired with a vibrant Patola dupatta, a beige linen ensemble layered with floral prints, and an intricately woven Jamdani lehenga inspired by Mughal gardens all highlighted India’s diverse weaving traditions.
Another elegant look featured a silk anarkali styled with a Banarasi sari draped as a dupatta, proving that classic Indian textiles can be reinvented in modern ways. Together, these ensembles showcase Genelia Deshmukh’s enduring love for craftsmanship, heritage and timeless Indian fashion.
