Veteran actress Bhagyashree recently shared her experience of portraying the mother of Riteish Deshmukh in the upcoming historical film Raja Shivaji. Interestingly, Riteish is nearly ten years younger than Bhagyashree in real life, making the casting choice a surprising talking point among fans.
Speaking about the role, Bhagyashree revealed that the filmmakers had to use special makeup and styling techniques to make her appear significantly older on screen. She explained that the transformation process was carefully designed to suit the historical setting and maintain authenticity for the character.
The actress said she accepted the role because of the film’s powerful narrative and emotional depth rather than focusing on age differences. According to her, portraying mature and meaningful characters is more important than conventional screen image considerations.
Bhagyashree also praised Riteish Deshmukh’s dedication toward the film, describing him as passionate and deeply committed to portraying the legendary Maratha ruler with sincerity. She added that the cast and crew worked extensively on costumes, dialogue delivery, and historical detailing to ensure the film captures the grandeur of the era.
The historical drama has already generated strong curiosity among audiences because of its ambitious scale and star cast. Fans are especially eager to see Bhagyashree in a role that differs greatly from her earlier romantic image in Bollywood.
With large-scale production design and emotional storytelling, Raja Shivaji aims to celebrate bravery, leadership, and the rich cultural legacy of Indian history through an engaging cinematic experience.
