Kajol Dazzles In Varun Bahl’s Floral Couture Sari At Awards

Actor Kajol made a striking fashion statement at a recent awards ceremony, where she was honored for her remarkable contribution to Indian cinema and her influence on the evolution of contemporary filmmaking. Choosing timeless elegance over conventional red-carpet glamour, the celebrated star arrived in a custom-designed gold tissue sari created by renowned New Delhi couturier Varun Bahl.

The ensemble was inspired by the designer’s Autumn/Winter 2025 couture collection, Whispers of Ember, and reflected his signature approach of blending traditional Indian craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities. The luxurious sari featured an asymmetric border adorned with intricate hand embroidery and elaborate surface embellishments, making it a standout creation.

Rich artisanal techniques including aari, zardozi, nakshi, dabka and cutdana embroidery were used throughout the garment. The detailed craftsmanship was further elevated with sequins, pearls, bugle beads, caviar beads and glass beadwork. Together, these elements formed striking three-dimensional floral and foliage-inspired appliqué motifs that decorated the border and appeared across the drape like delicate bouquets.

Complementing the sari was a sleeveless blouse featuring sculptural tailoring and pearl-encrusted detailing, adding a contemporary edge to the traditional silhouette. The outfit perfectly showcased Bahl’s celebrated ability to reinterpret heritage fashion through a modern lens.

Styled by fashion stylist Mohit Rai, Kajol completed her look with statement jhumkas and a ring that enhanced the outfit without overpowering it. Her beauty look featured kohl-lined eyes, dramatic lashes and soft pink lips, while a voluminous blowout with flowing hair added a touch of classic glamour. The result was an effortlessly sophisticated appearance befitting the occasion.
