Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan’s former assistant recently recalled an emotional memory involving actress Tabu during the shoot of the film Rang De. According to the artist, Tabu surprised everyone on set with generous gifts after filming wrapped up.
The actress reportedly presented Saroj Khan with a pair of gold bangles as a token of gratitude and admiration for her choreography and guidance throughout the shoot. The gesture deeply touched the legendary dance master, who was known for nurturing generations of performers and dancers in the industry.
What impressed the crew even more was Tabu’s thoughtful appreciation for the background dancers. The actress allegedly distributed Rs 1,000 each to more than 50 dancers working on the set — a considerable amount at the time. Crew members remembered the moment as rare and heartfelt, saying Tabu personally thanked many dancers for their hard work and dedication.
The story has resurfaced online, with fans praising Tabu for her humility and kindness behind the scenes. Many social media users called the gesture proof of how respected Saroj Khan was within the film industry and how deeply artists valued her contribution to Indian cinema.
Even years later, memories like these continue to highlight the strong emotional bonds shared between actors, choreographers, and crew members in Bollywood filmmaking.
