Hrithik Roshan Joins Jailer 2, Reunites With Rajinikanth After Decades

Hrithik Roshan is reportedly set to make a special appearance in the highly anticipated action entertainer Jailer 2, marking his on-screen reunion with superstar Rajinikanth nearly four decades after their memorable collaboration in the 1986 film Bhagwaan Dada. The development has generated considerable excitement among fans, as the sequel continues to build momentum ahead of its expected release in September 2026.

According to sources close to the production, Hrithik has officially agreed to be part of the film and is scheduled to shoot his portions in Chennai on June 22 and 23. Multiple look tests are currently underway as the makers finalize the actor’s appearance for the role. Industry insiders suggest that Hrithik’s character will not be a brief cameo but a crucial presence that significantly influences the storyline at a key stage of the narrative.

Adding to the anticipation, acclaimed music composer Anirudh Ravichander is reportedly creating a special background score exclusively for Hrithik’s entry sequence. The action-packed appearance is expected to be one of the film’s major highlights, with the powerful score designed to enhance the theatrical impact of the moment.

Interestingly, reports indicate that discussions were initially held with Shah Rukh Khan for a cameo in the sequel. However, scheduling issues prevented the collaboration from materializing, leading the makers to bring Hrithik on board instead.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and backed by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 features a star-studded cast including Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi, Mithun Chakraborty, SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan and Yogi Babu.
